Follow Up is King

Yesterday was very good.  I stuck to my time well.  I got a ton done on the back end and I feel pretty good about what I need to do going forward.

I’ve been following up with a referral since may and she finally closed today.  It’s only a website build, but it still helps.

Damn, I’m already getting distracted.  The friday burn out is upon us.  My goal today is to push through the burn out and get everything done.  I’m winning today. I got a close this morning and an invoice into my inbox!

Let’s go baby!

3 things I’m grateful for:

  • My balls, they are huge.  I’ll go for it every time.  Not everyone has that umph!
  • My networking group, it’s been great having them with me.  I’ve got much more professional and got a lot of business from the group.
  • My healthy, beautiful daughter.  She’s amazing, her expressions, how excited she gets.  It’s awesome being a dad.

3 things that would make today amazing:

  • Push through that burn out and get it DONE
  • 3 Greens on my focus
  • Have an awesome afternoon with my daughter and dear wife

Truth in Tracking

I said I’d focus on opportunities yesterday, but after tracking the exact time that I spent doing what, the truth says otherwise.

I did a deep dive into niche for 90 minutes which is till “getting ready” time.  It’s not doing time.  My 30 minute lunch was an hour.  On top of that I had some clarity and planning time for 30 minutes.

I also had a in person networking event that I pitched a couple business owners and usually those are a waste of time, but in my clarity and planning time I realized that 75% of my business comes from local connections so I need to double down on that.

Total getting ready time: 150 minutes or 2.5 hours.

Total prospecting, follow up time: 1 hour

Total sales calls: 1

I can spent 2.5 hours getting ready working on videos, my website and automations only after I’ve spent 2.5 hours doing the work.

I just looked at my calendar, it’s setup with all “getting ready time” but it’s also sent on the right parts of getting ready time.

Instead of my usual process of

cold call -> custom video -> warm call follow up -> close

I’m working on

cold email / cold call / inbound -> Video Sales Letter -> Online Application -> Booked Sales Call

Obviously, my new process is much better.  It will save time, but I want to make sure I’m not stopping my prospecting.  Today I’ll focus 100% making my process amazing and push it out next week.

3 Things I’m Grateful For:

  • My business coach, he’s opened my eyes to a world of systems, mindset routines, and will help me get to the level I need to be.
  • My business partner, he’s a little rough sometimes, but I can say with confidence that he’s helped me a lot in the last few years.
  • That one Facebook Ad..  My first internet marketing course.  Man it’s been a game changer since that day.

3 Things That Would Make Today Amazing:

  • No visible gaps in time in my calendar (I write down my social media time)
  • 3 greens for real this time
  • Approval on systems by my business coach

Keep Up My Momentum

I had an amazing day yesterday.  I closed 2 more lead gen websites and added 200 to my MRR.  I also went into a straight pitch to close a lead gen upfront and am working on a quote for it.

Yesterday, I wrote about Keeping My Mindset Right and took 20 minutes to take a good look into beaver builder, but quickly realized this isn’t worth my time.

I need focus on new money instead of saving money.

My focus today is to get my SOPs up and running as well as finish getting my linkedin down.  If linkedin could produce a phone call a week and I even close 25% I’d be looking 1 predictable client per month.

3 Things I’m Grateful For:

  • My ability to think out of the box.  I’m not your average person.  Little awkward in social situations, but I can snap into character if need be.  My alternate thinking is key.
  • My wife, she’s an amazing person.  She’s got my back everyday.  She takes care of our daughter and puts in work non-stop.
  • The USA – the amount of opportunities growing up in the USA give you is insane.

3 Things That Would Make Today Amazing:

  • 3 Greens on my Daily Focus (I got 3 yellows yesterday)
  • 3 Appointments set
  • Not having to worry about work the second my wife and daughter get home

Keeping My Mindset Right

Keeping My Mindset Right is of great importance.  On this rainy monday morning I realize that I didn’t set out my daily focus or calendar the night before.  I wanted to install beaver builder to figure out how to move my weebly websites over to wordpress in an attempt to save 200-500 monthly.

Is that the best use of my time?  I don’t think so.  Let’s have this monday feel like Friday, when I got my Yesses and Nos and closed $350 more MRR.

3 Things I’m Grateful For:

  • The USA, there is no better capitalist country in the world and the economic safety net that entrepreneurs have is unbelievable.
  • My Health, I don’t take care of myself as good as I should, but I’m still healthy, relatively pain free and feel good day to day
  • My clients, I’ve been fortunate enough with on & off 10xing over the past 3 years to gather a large list of clients who pay monthly and support my family.

3 Things That Would Make Today Amazing:

  • 3 Greens on my Daily Focus
  • Set 3 Appointments
  • Stuck to My Calendar

Yesses or Nos

I’m putting my morning ritual online.  I’ve been a entrepreneur for years now.  I’m seriously in debt, but have an amazing lifestyle and getting so damn close to the light at the end of the tunnel.

3 Things that I’m grateful for:

  • My first bad boss
  • Going into debt, makes things real, losing makes winning so much better, it adds to the story
  • My beautiful, healthy daughter who I’m trying to teach not to say what the fuck, but kinda aren’t

3 Things that would make today amazing:

  • If I got 4 greens only daily focus
  • I got some yesses or no’s from my prospects
  • Set 3 appointments for next week

The Power of Momentum & Mindset (everything has changed)

Winning

I am winning.  I thought seriously about deleting this blog, because it reminds me of all the pains, mistakes, fails.  I still think about it…

This last month has been amazing.  March will be my best month yet.  I closed up a $1000 deal about 3 weeks ago.  That one deal changed everything.  Right after that I closed up a $2000 dollar deal and two $4000+ deals.

Anything is possible.  A few of the biggest things that changed in my whole perspective was my partner’s impact, my sales trainer and momentum.  I almost forgot about my 2nd $2000 dollar deal.

March’s Cashflow will be close to +$3000 which will shatter my 1 month goal.  Now I haven’t been doing any of the motivational shit in the morning.  The thing that changed is that I’ve been going snowboarding.

Thursday I was sitting in 3+ feet of powder looking up at the snowcovered trees feeling nature put my body in sync.  I feel amazing.  Everyone I talked to on the ski lifts that day were playing hookey at work, skipping the day or retired.

It was different for me.  I have my own business.  I make my own rules.

It really dawned on me that I can do this.  I am doing it.  The long hours I put into this journey are paying off.

I played some video games.  I got so uplifted that I slacked hard.  I need to get back to working on working.  I still have my goals, but here’s my new focus for 2018.

This is who I am, who I will be and who I will become.

Rewriting My life:

I am…

  • Exotic Car Fanatic
  • 50 Day/Year Snowboarder
  • Entrepreneur
  • Youth Advocate
  • Motivational Speaker
  • Philanthropist
  • Father
  • Millionaire

What Changed Me?

That one deal -> I thank my partner who’s really more a coach for the inspiration.

Snowboarding -> My sales trainer convinced me that I need to take time for myself.

Spending Money ->  I bought another training course.  Kicking myself a little bit, but paying $5200 for a training course was uplifting.  It really reminds me that it’s just money.  There’s an abundance of $$$.

Now I’ve got a Rise & Grind.  Work harder.  Play more often.  Get Healthy.  Win More.  Give More.

Week 3: Cutting Expenses

Lean Mean Business Machine

I wrote a blog about my reaction to Profit First, a book by Mike Michalowicz.  As I pondered by realization of mindset, the invisible funnel and his method a thought crossed my mind.

Motivation VS Tactics

I’ve got a head start on my taxes and I’ve been examining my spending over the last year… which pains me to the core.  I’ve spent SOO much $$$$ on courses, motivation, and tools.

However, my bottom line hasn’t really gone up significantly enough to make those investments worth it.  At this point in my business career I’ve got all the tools I need. (that’s my thought)

I don’t want to set myself into the mindset that I don’t need extra tools, but rather in a mindset that I’m quite skeptical about re-investing any of income.

This last year has been an awesome year in business.

  • I’ve grown as an individual
  • I’ve grown as a business owner
  • I’ve development a strong mindset

However…  I’m left with negative $$ in my bank account.

Honestly, I’ve got to just swallow these hard lessons.  Over the past week I’ve implemented some measures to look inward into my business in order to innovate to cut expenses.

It’s worked well.  I was able to cut close to $200, hopefully 300 soon off my total expenses.  I then got a amazon fire stick, side-loaded kodi and cancelled my cable too.

Manifestation Goals

Financial Goal – $1000 positive cash flow:  Cut $200-300 in expenses.  Still haven’t achieved $1000 positive cash flow, because I’ve got $850 in additional expenses hitting this month.  **I’ve be very close with that $850 hadn’t hit, but that’s necessary for business to move forward.

Lifestyle Goal:  – Book a Seasonal Vacation:  Bootstrapping this year.

Family Goal – Uninterrupted time on the weekends with Chloe:  Achieved.  We spend a lot of time together.

Week 2: Setting My Calendar

Getting Organized & Taking Care of Myself

setting my calendarI figure I should blur out my calendar to keep the privacy of the appointments I’ve got going on.  I have a ton of last names & stuff on there.

Getting to the point.  This works for me.  I missed 3 appointments that I set with myself today because I forgot to make a new landing page for a website in order to carry out my cold calls.

Which is fine for now, but going forward I need to remember to plan for everything accordingly.  With an exact plan for the day I have a lot easier time keeping on task.

No new money, but after reading Profit First my outlook on $$ has definitely improved.  I realized my make it & spend it mindset popularized by Grant Cardone wasn’t the best idea in the world.  I think that mindset may have been popularized by him for invisible funnel purposes.

I do value re-investing in myself, but with my personal training business hitting some hard months (during our supposed busiest time mind you) I could definitely use a pile of cash to fall back on.

But I’m tapped because I had been continually re-investing in myself.  I’m still planning on taking my profit first starting at 2% and moving that percentage up to 5%.  Innovating my business & lifestyle to adjust is going to be a great challenge.

I love challenges.  I think this challenge will greatly build my financial knowledge.

Keep in mind.  I never regret my 10X Decision and have huge aspirations that I WILL accomplish.

(just need take joy in bootstrapping)

Manifestation Goals

Financial Goal – $1000 positive cash flow:  No new $$ via bootstrapping or new sales towards my goal of $1000 positive cash flow.

Lifestyle Goal:  – Book a Seasonal Vacation:  We may put that on hold to bootstrap and get more of a cushion.

Family Goal – Uninterrupted time on the weekends with Chloe:  I’m working more of the weekend as of late, but spending so much more time with her that I feel like this is accomplished.
