My Life in a Nutshell

Cracking it open

90 day blitz
My wall above my computer… filled with motivation.

I’m Will, a struggling entrepreneur, and this is my personal accountability blog.  After had one of the best months yet in which I brought in $5500 profit between my two businesses I just slipped into a hell of a funk.

My plan is to conduct a 90 Day Blitz, which was popularized by the majority of the speakers at the 10X Growthcon which I went to this past March.

My start date is May 6th, and this is day one.

Day one is already 3/4 of the way over, and I had 2 training sessions this morning plus an assessment that I didn’t close.  I then proceeded to play Heroes of the Storm for about 7-8 hours.  I’m very good at it, and enjoy playing…  but we all know that’s not getting me any closer to my goals.

In resolution… instead of another note on my wall I’m doing this blog.

and… GO!

Past Accountability Practices

As you can plainly see by my goal income picture and the scribbled out monthly profit sheet that outlines an agreement to myself, I haven’t been pulling through.

I get really amped, motivated, and then get a few wins just to balance those wins out with some losses.  At the moment I have a lot of clients waiting for results.

These clients are my marketing clients, not my personal training ones.  I’m a very good salesmen, but often I get jammed up on the follow through.  I just need to hunker down and figure it out.  Before this goes into a whole rant I want to sum up my past accountability practices.

Top 4 Ways I’ve kept myself Accountable

When I was really crushing it I was using these practices.

  1. Goals in the morning & night
  2. What I did today journal
  3. Self Grading Daily & Weekly
  4. Celebrating my wins

This blog will replace my “What I did today journal” as well as self grading, and I’ll note down how I celebrated.  I’ll keep hammering in my 10x binder as well.

1 Year Later – Update:

I used to calculate my profit by taking my profit gained from Personal Training after expenses and my profit gained from Marketing before expenses.  I really messed up how my profit/loss system was functioning so I’ve got a hard time figuring out where I am after a 1 year update.

It’s 3/12/208 a little over a year since I made this post.  If I’m using the same system as I used to do count my “profit” I’d be at $11,642.  March is my best month yet.

Top 4 Ways I’ve kept myself Accountable

motivationThroughout the last year I used many different ways to keep myself accountable.  None of it really worked!!!  Now I actually have other people keeping me accountable.

  1. My partner – I win, he wins… it works
  2. My sales trainer – He’s all about keeping a sound cookbook
  3. My environment – First, I’m renting a $500,000 house which is much bigger than my parents.  Second, I’ve got that poster staring me in the face every time I walk down the stairs.
  4. My lifestyle – Snowboarding, spending time with the family, and guarding my time that I’m working.

I can’t wait to see what the year two update is!!
